Here, we can see two important buildings alluding to the Battle of Vimeiro: a building that was used as a Field Hospital and a house that was Sir Arthur Wellesley's Headquarters. This area where we are now was the scene of bloody clashes. At the end of the battle, the wounded were treated at this location, in the Church itself and in the churchyard.
